1. What was life like before your started your journey to health and fitness?
Before I started with Foundations, I did not workout at all. I was overweight and just did not feel good about myself.

2. Why did you start your journey--what prompted it or motivated you to make a change? What were your primary goals?

My biggest motivation to change was wanting to feel better. I was getting closer to 40 and knew something needed to change. I was tired all the time and wanted to get some weight off.

3. Describe steps you took to change, any obstacles you faced and overcame, significant people/things that helped you and anything you want to share.
The biggest obstacle was just starting! I hadn't done any kind of exercise in years, and I didn't want to look foolish when I went to the first Foundations 6:19 class. I knew all the ladies that exercised with Iris had been doing it a long time. I figured there would be no way I could keep up with them. Yes, for my first workout, I did die! But as I continued to go, it got better. No, it's never easy; but oh, I feel so good when I do it!

4. How is life different now? What is the greatest success you have achieved so far?
Life is different for me now because exercise is a true part of my life. I really try to workout 3 to 5 times a week. And I can say I'm in better shape now (at almost 40) than I was at 20. I haven't lost a ton of weight (9 lbs) but I have lost many many inches. I have gone down a size in my tops and pants so that to me is more important than the weight (well that's at least what Iris would tell me).
5. How do you see yourself continuing your journey and the impact it will have on those around you?

I want my journey to continue strong, because I want my kids to see me being active and really working on me. I want to encourage others to take the first step. Even if it's hard! It is so worth it. Also once you start, keep going! It took a while for me to see results, and I really wanted to give up at times. But in the long run, its been the best decision I have made! Thank you! Thank you Iris! Love you lots!

6. How has Foundations 6:19 helped you on your journey?
Foundations has helped me learn to exercise and eat better.
I appreciate everything Foundations 6:19 (Iris) has helped me to accomplish in reaching my health & fitness goals.
