getting started

This year, I'm really trying to keep things simple. And I believe that the #3 really helps to do that.

So if you are looking to get started on your journey to a new & better You, here are 3 simple steps. Now, remember, these are simple for a reason--this is where you START. But simple doesn't mean easy--these will take effort and thought on your part. You will eventually need to add to them in order to PROGRESS and see RESULTS.

#1) Decide who you want to be.
There is something about your life right now, about you, that you are not satisfied with. There is something that you know and wish could be better and you want to do something about it. Write this down. It should be one sentence, or even one word. If you want to be healthy, WHY do you want to be healthy. If you want to be a successful writer, WHY do you want to be one? Keep asking WHY until you pinpoint exactly what it is that drives you to be better.
Mine: I want to inspire & equip others to honor God with their whole lives--mind, body & soul.

#2) Determine what you need to become that person.
This can be a whole lot of things, but narrow it down to the most prominent thing that you are not doing or do not have right now. This can be any kind of resource you can think of or maybe it will take a change of attitude or perspective or behavior.
When I decided that I wanted to help others become healthy, I determined that I needed to become more educated and certified in this industry. So, I pursued my certification as a Personal Trainer and now I continually educate myself. Plus, I had to be the example and practice what I was preaching.

#3) Design a plan of action.
Once you know what (or who) you want to be and what you need to achieve that, design a plan of action to make it happen. I would encourage you to start small. Give yourself at least 1 action per week, or if you have a deadline, map it out according to your time restraints. This is also called goal-setting. But more on that in another post--for now, just plan simple steps to start setting yourself up for success.
For me, I searched for an online certification program I could complete, because I'm a stay-at-home mom, and we are never in the same place for more than 6 months. Once I completed my course, I found Lifetime Academy and was able to enroll for more hands-on experience and it worked with my schedule and my lifestyle!

Taking the first step is always the hardest...but it very well might be the most IMPORTANT!
I would love to help you in any way that I can! Comment below with any questions you might have:)
