Read ACTS 20-22
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. (Acts 20:24 NIV)
Life is busy, there's not doubt. But a busy schedule doesn't equate with a full life or a significant life. Our aim should daily be to share God's love with others through the way we choose to live out our lives. There are countless opportunities to share His good news of grace if we would just slow down and pay a little more attention to how God wants to use us to be a blessing to those around us.
How does sharing God's good news fit into your daily schedule/lifestyle?
READ ACTS 17-19
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. (Acts 17:24 NIV)
When I read this verse, I was reminded of our Mission Verse, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20--which says, we are the temple of the Holy Spirir. We are not our own, we were bought with a price. Therefore we are to honor God with our bodies.
So, if our Lord doesn't live in temples made by human hands, it stands to reason that since He created our bodies, He chooses to live inside of us. How amazing is that?
How does it make you feel that the God who made the heavens and earth chooses to live inside of you?
Read ACTS 14-16
strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. (Acts 14:22 NIV)
God is constantly reminding me that relationships are what matter most...so it's important for me to make time for others. My prayer is that I would be one who strengthens and encourages others to remain true to the faith, especially through many hardships. That I would recognize the opportunities He gives me to share His love and plant seeds of faith in the lives of those around me. And that God would send others to strengthen and encourage me as well.
How have you strengthened and/or encouraged someone to remain true to faith? Or how has someone done this for you?
READ ACTS 11-13
Through him (Jesus) everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. (Acts 13:39 NIV)
There's a saying that says, "don't judge me because I sin differently than you." There is so much truth to this because we all sin against God in some way. The great news is that through Jesus we can all be set free from ANY sin! So although we may sin differently, we all have the same opportunity to receive forgiveness and freedom of our sins through believing in Jesus and the work He did on the cross for us.
What sin do you need Jesus to set you free from today? Believe He can, and He will!
READ ACTS 8-10
Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. (Acts 10:34, 35 NIV)
Just as God does not show favoritism, I shouldn't either. It is not my responsibility to choose who will hear and receive His message of salvation or to judge what others do as right or wrong. Neither does God accept us based on where we come from or reject us based on who we are.
I am thankful that we all are accepted on the basis of the condition of our heart and how we live that out. And when we surrender our hearts to His leading and authority, He will accept us and show us how to fear Him and do what is right. He sees me just as special as a notable Christias like Beth Moore, Francis Chan or even Billy Graham. But how much God can use me is dependent on how surrendered I am to Him...
How does it make you feel to know that God doesn't have favorites?
