Today's reading is Matthew 13-15.
There were a lot of good verses tucked into these 3 chapters. But if I had to pick one, it would be Chapter 13, verse 33.
"Jesus also used this illustration:
'The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.'"
In this verse, yeast is likened to the Kingdom of Heaven in that just a little can make a big impact on whatever it comes in contact with. In the parable, the yeast permeated every part of the dough. I felt God impress upon my heart that His Kingdom should permeate every part of my being--my mind, body and spirit.
In Romans 14:17, the Bible says the Kingdom of God is of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So these are the things that should permeate my life--righteousness, peace and joy. And when they permeate my life, I will in turn impact others for the Kingdom of Heaven. Even if I'm just one person--my life can make a difference.
I also take this verse to apply to my healthy journey--that when I let God's truths, His Word & Presence, permeate my mind, my entire life will be transformed. So, I'm very excited to continue this reading plan and see what else God wants to share with me.
I pray you will join me and hide God's Truth in your heart--that it will begin to permeate your whole life. And as it does, that you will see God move in your life--clothing you with the righteousness of Christ, giving you peace that surpasses all understanding and empowering you with strength of His joy.
